Informed consent is a cornerstone ethical principle that helps to ensure that patients are making informed and autonomous choices about their healthcare. In this 3 CE training, attendees will be provided with a high level review of informed consent and its relevance to ethical standards in healthcare. Information about the 5 key elements of informed consent will be provided, as well as practice opportunities to support application of knowledge. Attendees will be provided with communication skills training to learn ways to communicate relevant medical and treatment information in ways that are comprehensive, clear, and sensitive.
